10 Quick Tips for More Beautiful Skin
1. Limit your sugar intake
Sugar causes your collagen fibers to become brittle so reduce your sugar intake for stronger and healthier collagen.
2. Eat more antioxidants
Antioxidant rich fruits and veggies help to protect your cells from free radical attacks.
3. Exercise
Exercising increases your circulation bringing more oxygen to the surface of your skin. After exercising, your skin takes on a beautiful rosy glow as well.
4. Cleanse your face every night & wear sunscreen every day
Dirt, toxins, pollution, and more can glob together with your sebum causing unwanted skin conditions making it vital that you wash your face every night. During the day make sure you protect your skin with an effective sunscreen to maintain a healthy appearance.
5. Drink lots of water
Lack of water can cause your cells to become dehydrated. Replenish your body with water throughout the day in order to maintain juicy plump cells.
6. Reduce stress
Stress releases hormones that wreak havoc on your skin. Find ways daily that help you unwind and de-stress.
7. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week
Exfoliating regularly will support cellular renewal, give your skin a smoother texture, and help your other products work more efficiently.
8. Sleep
Get plenty of restful sleep! While you are sleeping your skin goes into reparative mode and is vital for repairing any damage that has occurred during the day.
9. LED light therapy
Consider IPL or red light therapy for anti-aging or blue light therapy for acne. It’s a facial that non-invasively improves the appearance of your skin.
10. Smile
Laugh and smile often! A positive attitude and a smile on your lips give your face an unparalleled glowing brilliance.
Great tips.. When you have flaky, itchy, dry skin, you want fast relief. Easing your dry skin isn’t just about what you put on it. It also depends on how you clean your skin, the air around you, and even your clothes.
Hi Victoria,
I love all of your ideas, they’re awesome! I would suggest adding one more thing to number 8.
Sleep IS very important for the regenerative processes of your skin and entire body. What I would add is changing your pillowcases regularly.
Studies show we spend about 1/3 of our lives in bed. That suggests your face is buried into a pillow roughly 1/3 of every day.
Your pillowcase can turn into a “breeding ground” for bacteria and other nasty things. Can you imagine what you are putting your face into if you haven’t washed or changed your pillowcases for a while? Can anyone remember the last time they changed them?
This “could” be a major cause of skin problems that no product will be able to cure. Acne, rashes and a whole slew of other things can be avoided with one simple step. And you’ll save a bunch of money as well 🙂
What do you think?
You are so right Mary! Sleep is very important to the beauty of your skin as well as your health. It’s often overlooked because our lives just get so busy. And a clean pillow is also a great tip. Thanks for the additions 🙂
This list should be put on a credit card sized card for safekeeping in every female wallet. Its simple, just not easy taking care of yourself. A card as a reminder everytime I pull my VISA out to buy a burrito would be nice 😉
