You hear it all the time; exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! But why is exfoliating skin so important and do you really need to add this step into an already hectic schedule? It’s important because it has a huge impact on the health of your skin and you really should seriously consider adding it to your routine.
Even the most beautiful skin can look dull and lifeless if it isn’t exfoliated well and regularly. Exfoliating skin is basically polishing the surface of your skin, removing dead skin cells and increasing cell renewal. This simple step instantly makes your skin look smoother and helps your other products work much more effectively.
Benefits of exfoliating
- Increases cell renewal
- Keeps pores from clogging
- Helps other products work more effectively
- Promotes a more even skin tone
- Brightens skin
- Diminishes lines and wrinkles
- Effective exfoliating products
Essona Organics Zenesis Juicy Peel Masque
This luscious mask contains fruit juice acids, pumpkin enzymes, bentonite clay, and many more ingredients that do an amazing job of exfoliating, purifying, and detoxifying your skin. You only have to use this peel 1-2 times a week making it very easy to add into your routine.
Renu Derma 3 in 1 Facial Mask
This is a two-step mask that draws out impurities as it absorbs oil and exfoliates your skin. First you apply the white product all over your face and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then you simply get the white product wet and gently massage the granules all over your face for about 3-5 minutes. Rinse and voila; super smooth skin!
The PMD Personal Microderm
This convenient little tool allows for microdermabrasion treatments in your own home. It polishes the surface of your skin and vacuums up the dead skin and debris at the same time. It’s extremely effective at drastically improving the tone and texture of the skin.
Great post, I couldn’t agree more. I also am a lover of natural and organic skin care. I have personally used the Renu Derma 3 in 1 mask and it is an excellent product, as is their Green Clay Mask. I am receiving a sample of the Essona Organics Masque soon and am really excited! Here’s to healthy skin.
Exfoliating is important, but the article almost suggests that more is better. Exfoliating too often may cause dryness, flaking, and other irritation.
Exfoliating twice a week should be the maximum.
You’re right Ian, you don’t want to exfoliate too often or too aggressively. 2-3 times a week is usually the right amount of treatments for the skin, however, there are some exfoliating scrubs that are designed to use daily and produce great results.
Can you recommend any natural ways to exfoliate skin? I know its funny but my grandma uses big pebbles to rub her skin out.. ;))
I’ve never heard of using big pebbles Jen 🙂 You can use brown sugar, white sugar, or baking soda to naturally exfoliate your skin. You can also use a soft wash cloth, just be very gentle and don’t scrub too hard.
Exfoliating is like giving a treat to your physical appearance. It was a long time ago when I treated my skin, I might get some exfoliating this weekend!
You are so right Hillary! Exfoliating is so great for your skin, hope you treat yourself to a great exfoliation treatment.
Great products for total skin care solution. Thanks ,will try them for sure.
