Did you know that your skin contains about 30% of all the water contained in your body? And did you know that that 30% equals approximately 2.5 gallons? The water in your skin gives it bounce and suppleness giving you a deliciously dewy and healthy complexion. Hydration also helps your body eliminate toxins residing in your skin keeping you and your skin safe. The problem is, water is continuously looking for ways to escape!
One of the daily responsibilities your skin takes on is to prevent water from escaping. This challenging task helps your skin function properly. Dehydrated skin feels tight and no longer emits a beautiful healthy glow.
Drinking plenty of water (not soda) throughout the day will help keep you skin hydrated from the inside. You should aim for about 50-68 ounces, or 1.5-2 liters, of water a day to keep your skin from becoming dehydrated.
Using an effective moisturizer daily will help keep your skin hydrated from the outside. This will help to keep the lipid layer intact, will infuse your skin with hydration, and will help prevent water loss. Look for products that contain ingredients such as vegetable glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and cranberry seed oil.
Keeping your skin hydrated will really pay off; giving your skin the moisture it needs to stay juicy and plump. Hydrated skin equals lusciously supple skin.

Good to know that the benefits of drinking plenty of water has been recognized. I’ve always drank a lot of water that’s why I look relatively younger than my actual age, Cheers to more hydration.
Since most of our body is made up of water it’s important to keep hydrated. But it’s also important to know that you shouldn’t have too much water, you may end up drowning yourself – literally! Insightful post, thank you for sharing.
