Rosacea

Rosacea is a common skin condition that afflicts millions of people.  Staggering isn’t it?  So, what exactly is rosacea and if you happen to be someone who suffers with it what treatments for rosacea can you take advantage of?

Rosacea is a disorder that results in redness on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead; often resembling the shape of a butterfly.  People that suffer with this skin condition may have small visible blood vessels along with bumps or pimples.

It can be a very frustrating and embarrassing disorder making you feel like you need to hide.  In fact, the National Rosacea Society states that over 70% of people who have rosacea claim that it negatively affects their social life and self-esteem.

Common Rosacea Triggers

  • Sun exposure
  • Wind
  • Stress
  • Alcohol
  • Spicy foods
  • Dairy foods

When suffering with rosacea you will, of course, want to avoid or at least reduce your exposure to known triggers but you can also incorporate LED light therapy treatments into your skin care regimen.

LED light therapy has proven to be a very effective treatment for many rosacea suffers, but varies from person to person.  There are two home systems that offer great relief form many rosacea sufferers and may help you as well.

DPL Therapy System

The DPL Therapy System combines red and infrared LEDs (light emitting diodes) into two large panels that you simply rest in front of while the LED wavelengths penetrate into skin easing the rosacea symptoms.  You will want to go into the treatments slowly and build up the amount of time you spend in front of the lights until you hit a time that works for your skin.

“I have seen dramatic results from using the DPL™. I have rosacea and it helped keep that under control. I get lots of compliments on my skin and how young I look. I’ve also found it gives me relief from sinus pain and pressure. I am a senior and I’ve been asked on several occasions to show my ID because they didn’t think I was over 60. It was well worth the money. “ DS/MT

“The system is working really well and is definitely helping with my acne, wrinkles and Rosacea.” MD/Texas

“I bought the system as an experiment for my rosacea and it really helped it. Anyone with rosacea should try this system. It has also helped with my veins that I was seeing a dermatologist for. I don’t have to go as often know since using the system.” ST/Illinois

Caribbean Sun Skin Rejuvenation Light The Caribbean Sun Skin Rejuvenation Light uses red and yellow LEDs and is also an exceptional hands-free unit that offers gentle rosacea treatments.  Many people who have tried yellow light therapy for rosacea have had great success.  Again, depending on how sensitive your skin is, you will want to adjust the time you sit in front of the lights to meet your skin’s needs.  The Caribbean Sun light has the ability to use the red and yellow lights at the same time or individually which makes it nice.

Dr. David Goldberg states that “the basic rule is yellow LED for mild redness, red LED for more inflamed rosacea, combination of red and infrared for inflammation and swelling.”

Rosacea can be a very exasperating condition and only those of you who experience it on a regular basis truly understand how frustrating it can be.  LED light therapy may be very helpful for you and an option that makes a visible difference in the appearance of your skin.
